I enjoy guiding clients through the complexity, and translating these concepts into plain language that anyone can understand. I have run businesses as well as advised other businesses in public practice. At Maxim, this means I can use this commercial viewpoint to share with our clients and help their businesses grow and prosper.
A Brief History
Michael has over 25 years of accounting experience, in both public practice and industry. He began his career as a trainee accountant in the SME tax division of Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) in Perth. Over the next 8 years he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, moving through various roles within PwC and in the financial services industry in Perth and Melbourne. In 2005 he relocated to the UK where he held senior finance roles in the City of London at two large banks, and as the CFO of a European stock exchange. After leaving the City, Michael ran his own accounting practice in the UK for 8 years, catering to small and medium sized businesses, expats and family groups. He relocated back to Perth in 2022 and joined Maxim as an Advisor in 2023.
Michael enjoys interacting with a variety of clients, helping them navigate the complex world of tax and business.
Michael is married, and is a keen baker, cook and learner of languages.
